Turn this Band into a Bash {The Beatles}

My name is Camille, and I'm an event planner and blogger for Style Notes... many thanks to Meg for the guesting opportunity on Mimi & Meg!

I recently had an amazing meal at Wolfgang Puck's CUT restaurant in Beverly Hills, and enjoyed the cool modernist design as much as the luscious cuts of steak. White walls, bleached wood, and striking black & white photography set a minimalist backdrop for the fantastic classic rock soundtrack, and I was inspired to design a similarly edgy, rockstar party that centers around the Beatles' inimitable style.

This beyond-cool invitation was designed by Peculiar Pair Press for a Beatles Go To India themed wedding. A vivid color palette and swirling artwork lend a touch of the exotic. A huge Buddha statue greets guests as they enter the party. Via Snippet & Ink.

Add a little kitsch by including Beatles paraphernalia with the mailed invites, or use the loot as retro party favors. Each envelope gets a stamp featuring the Fab Four as a fun finishing touch.

This party lounge space incorporates the white and bleached wood backdrop of my CUT inspiration, but adds pops of brilliant color and pattern for psychedelic effect. Graphic wall art lends a touch of mysticism. Designed by Alison Events, via Snippet & Ink.

Who wouldn't love these nesting dolls that depict John, Paul, George, & Ringo? Scatter them on a bar or buffet for smile-inducing effect.

Take your guests on a journey to the East with curry-inflected hors d'oeuvres. Infuse bite-sized treats with Indian flavor, like Chickpea Nibbles & Spiced Vegetable Fritters. A pinch of curry and sprinkling of cilantro takes guacamole into new territory when served with warm Naan bread. Recipe from 101 Cookbooks.

For entertainment, hire a classic Sitar player to set a transcendental mood. Use a projector or TV screen to show silent footage of the Beatles in their heyday. "The First US Visit" is a great documentary that includes appearances on Ed Sullivan, concerts, and spontaneous moments captured on film.
