A Day at Neimans with Micky Castillo & Oscar de la Renta

Last Wednesday I had the privilege of attending an intimate event with Lara of The Glossarie at the Neiman Marcus in Chevy Chase where celebrity makeup artist, Mikey Castillo, came to talk about Le Métier de Beauté and do a few makeovers. I had never had my makeup done before. I know right, who am I!?! But honestly, I just don't like to wear a lot of makeup. He was amazing of course and my skin felt so soft the next day after he had slathered Le Métier de Beauté products all over it. I'm sure Lara will have a much more in depth review of all the makeup & application tips, but I was more taken with the special showing of the Oscar de la Renta line (see some gorgeous patterns, textures, feathers, and details I snapped above).

One thing I love about upscale department stores is that they are usually full of breathtaking displays and everywhere you turn is another beautiful item. But this installation was stunning. These white butterfly strings completely filled the huge skylight dome and hung down into the escalators. With the sun shining in, it felt like a fantasy. Just gorgeous.

That's my favorite Neiman Marcus ever! Good quality makeup always makes your skin happy :) Will have to check out the line.
