WEEK IN REVIEW: 2.24.12

I walked into J.Crew with good intentions... then I walked out with these... I couldn't help myself! They all looked so pretty next to each other and I'm a nailpolishaholic. At least they don't take up a lot of space! I'm wearing Cardinal Red right now, and lemmetellya, it rocks. A great spring red.

The weather has pretty much been crazy all over the U.S. It was in the 50s and 60s this week, and well, windy. / I used some of my holiday gift cards recently, and seriously, I bought all stripes. No joke. I'll be fasting from stripes for a while. Even my husband mentioned something to me...

The fabric on this dress at BCBG was gorgeous. Not a fan of the dress, but the fabric... pretty. More pics after the jump!

I may have mentioned this before but I have a love/hate relationship with cooking. I don't love it, but sometimes (few and far between times) think it's fun. I hate going grocery shopping. Husband loves meat, me, not so much. Most couples bicker about money or sex, for us, it's food. We don't really  bicker as much as get annoyed with the food situation (and also probably because I don't keep much "snack food" around. Snack food is fruit. My poor future kids will never have a Nutty Bar, or do pageants and drink Mountain Dew + Red Bull). I finally decided to get on a schedule. Look up recipes on the weekend, go grocery shopping on Sunday (grab my favorite yogurt while I'm out — see below — a treat for going grocery shopping since I don't like to go), and then we have food and meals for the entire week. It's just so much easier. And to get in the mood for cooking, I put on my cute apron.

Friends, this is what I call a good day in the mail. ELLE, House Beautiful, some jewels from Oia Jules (full post coming on them soon), and my Birchbox. Hell yes.

Ahhh my yogurt. Can't get enough of this stuff. California tart yogurt with dark chocolate chips & strawberries from Yolly Molly. Sweetgreen also has really good yogurt. Annnnnd now I'm craving it. / Um, people, cashmere socks are awesome. I mean, I had no idea. Me feet are always freaking cold, everywhere. Thanks to Soft Surroundings, I now wear them all the time. And on planes.

My UPS Store. I seriously love them. They are so freaking nice and helpful (even though I think shipping costs and arm and a leg these days) they make breaking my bank not feel so bad. They gave me a freaking cookie when I was in there the other day! I'll be so sad to leave them when I move. I hate it when you find the perfect location of places you go frequently, then you move. My yoga studio and CrossFit gym in KC were awesome, miss them too!

I feel that way about a lot of BCBG things. The fabric or the idea is great but then I end up not liking the garment. Love the nail polishes! J. Crew is so fun! xoxo

I love that you shared your grocery shopping woes! I'm in a similar situation. My bf loves meat and snacking and I'm not a fan of either. I was really shocked when we moved in together last year how much food would become a compromise!

I have a love/hate relationship with cooking too and me and my husband always fight about food. I grew up with health freak parents and he grew up with the exact opposite so we have very different views on what a good dinner is. I'm working on trying to find healthy meals that taste good that we can both agree on

The first thing my husband asks me every morning is, "What's for dinner?" Drives me nuts. Its 6am, no coffee yet and he is worried about dinner. It makes me hate cooking it.

I am in love with stripes this year.

Love this post! I would say that day in the mail really was a winner. Even one or two of those would make my mail day! The cookie is super cute. Can't believe a UPS store did that!

And, you do CrossFit? I don't think I've read about it on here before. Do you love it? Do you still do it in DC? I just don't know if I can cough up the $150/month. It seems like so much!
