See how Jeanne gets shit done after the jump.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I get up at 6am, check my email (but won't answer any yet). Get ready and set up breakfast for my daughter and husband by 7:30am — I make sure we all have a full breakfast and sit down together for a meal before we start our day. My mother usually helps me with my daughter around 10am, so from then on I can focus on answering emails, blog content, going to meetings and events. I pick up my daughter and husband at 6pm and try not to be on the computer while they're at home.

What parts of your job do you love?
I love that I'm able to connect and share my interest with a lot of talented, like-minded people.

What parts of your job do you dislike?
I suppose the balancing act between family and work is pretty hard. There are times when I wish I can do more, and I'm sure I can, if I didn't have worry about sacrificing my time with my family. It used to eat me up a lot, but lately I've come to realization that it's ok to work on my own speed.

What things do you have to do that you didn't realize going into your job?
There were a lot of things I didn't realize before going into blogging. I didn't know I'd have do a lot of social media. I didn't know I'd have to do a lot of networking (online and offline), I didn't know there is so much researching is involved. I didn't know I'd have to learn new skills (like Photoshop, still not that good at it.) In a nutshell, I jumped into blogging without knowing too much about it and learned a lot as I went.

What type of calendar do you keep?
I have a Kate Spade day planner. I try to use the calendar on my laptop, but I have to write everything out to know what I'm doing.

How do you plan out your calendar?
I don't really, but I try to look at it two weeks in advance. There are times when I try to plan further out in advance but I find that things always change, so now I pretty much plan as I go.

How do you organize your to-do list?
I have another notepad where I keep my daily to-do list. It's organized by tasks, errands, and correspondence.

How do tackle your to-do list?
Before I hop onto my laptop, I try to spend 5-10 minutes to write down what I have to do each day. And if things didn't get done that day, it rollovers to the next day. I also try to get all the easy, small tasks out of the way before tackling the big ones.

When you are stuck on a project, how do you get out of it?
I get off it completely for a day and refresh myself. Maybe I will spend a day outside of my home and do nothing related to work. I also talk to my husband about it, we share a lot of each other's day and I do ask him for advice. And if I come back and still feel really stuck, then I think of who else I can reach out to and ask for help.

How do you GSD at home?
Since I have small toddler, it's really hard to keep my apartment organized 24/7. I try to take 10 minutes here and there throughout the day to organize and clean, rather than spending a whole full day — which can be daunting! I'm also lucky that my husband is pretty hands on so we split our chores evenly which helps a lot!

Love me some Jeanne. So nice to see Jeanne talk about how she GSD, and she does get a whole lotta *hit done!
I think she's doing such a great job at juggling everything.
I'm a big fan of the 10 minute tidy up too. It definitely makes things more manageable.
Another great GSD post!
